I'm very happy when I'm taking photographs and I love giving my clients rich, strong and evocative images. I cover
a really wide variety of photography. Some of my work is very specialised and technical, and some of it is far more about working with people, and good timing and obsevation.
I photograph people, for a whole variety of reasons, and I photograph things and places for artists, businesses and organisations. I have superb equipment and I've developed diverse skills. Much of my work has been illustration for magazines and books, and I've had over 8,000 images published, including 25 cover-shots. Joyce and I have collaborated on three
practical gardening books and more than 800 magazine articles.
Photographing
Weddings is an occasional pleasure for me and I think that gives me some advantages. No tired habits and no desire to force everybody to fit my schedule, or for those involved to be anything other than themselves enjoying a very special day. I enjoy quirky and unconventional weddings and couples.
As a photography trainer I've coached many groups and individuals and I've devised and delivered photography workshops for organisations including the Crafts Council of Ireland, National Sculpture Factory, LEADER, Olympus UK, various arts organisations and county arts offices. My work is supported by
Olympus.
Home is West Cork, Ireland, where Joyce and I live in the mountains with a lovely garden, a dog, a cat, a flock of hens and my professional wood workshop. Covid allowing, I'm happy to travel nationally and internationally for photography and photography training.
